Global outsourced Retail supply chain organisation, delivering packaging sourcing, promotional execution and supply chain analytics and integration, seek to appoint a truly exceptional Packaging Category Buyer to provide expert outsource management across their Global Client accounts.

Aligning yourself closely to the Group wide overall strategy for procurement, planning and execution, you will lead the commercial aspects with a diverse Supply Chain, conducting quarterly & annual packaging / product reviews & tenders as necessary to deliver annual budgets and product pricing for the following year. Additionally, you will manage business award/contract process with Suppliers in response to performance or changing Client demands.

Interfacing closely with Sales/Client developments, you’ll manage an array of sourcing briefs, investigating, scoping and creating business cases to on-board new suppliers and negotiating best cost for new developments, whilst also conducting ongoing buying reviews via e-sourcing tools, including NDA, BA and BRA document management.

Ideally you will be Degree (or equivalent) qualified in Business or Supply Chain Management, have acquired a creditable Professional Procurement accreditation (CIPS) and possess a demonstrable level of experience in purchasing/buying in the Foodservice Packaging or long life products/consumables arena. Imperatively you will have proven negotiation and supplier management skills, excellent written and oral communication and be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products, with particularly strong Excel capabilities.

The ability to participate in and lead internal and external meetings is critical, as is being accustomed to delivering within multi-cultural, multi-functional teams. You will have a demonstrable ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet time sensitive & mission critical targets and whilst often working independently, you will contribute to the department’s performance with enthusiasm, flexibility, positive thinking and an informed yet open mind.
