Team Leader - Stitching and Binder

We are seeking interested candidates looking for an opportunity as Team Leader.  Experience in operating a Perfect Binding line is essential.

Leading a team, you will take overall responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of an assigned Stitching and Perfect Binding line. Your responsibilities include the controlling, organising, tasking and development of operators, the control and use of material resources, quality, output / achievement of schedules, health & safety and equipment care and maintenance.

Main Accountabilities

  • To manage and monitor a small team assigned to a machine
  • To ensure maximum potential output and quality is achieved for the shift period
  • To take responsibility for all materials required to fulfil job requirement for shift
  • To take responsibility to pass jobs for quality and must ensure sample/file copies are available to agreed timescales
  • To ensure the equipment is maintained to the highest level ensuring optimum performance.
  • Be an active part in projects involving LEAN improvement initiatives
  • Supporting the First Line Manager
  • To communicate effectively with crew, shifts and across departments
  • May also be required to fulfil duties of a floating crew member, who is not fixed to a machine.
  • Drive standards at all times
  • In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by immediate manager from time to time

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Previous experience in print finishing specifically stitching & binding essential
  • Lead / role model behaviours and activities, which deliver total customer focus.
  • Demonstrate and promote a leadership style which ensures improved productivity and recognises / rewards continuous self development and achievement.
  • A pro-active approach to the training of other operators as determined by business needs
  • Uses an engaging communication style
  • Is flexible and welcoming of change
  • Basic operating skills in Microsoft Office
