BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER / SALES MANAGER - DIRECT MAIL

MIDLANDS / SOUTH EAST REGION - HOMEBASED

£50K - £60K (DOE) + Commission + Car or Car Allowance + Pension

Our client is a leading provider of comprehensive direct mail solutions, dedicated to helping businesses enhance their marketing efforts through targeted and effective mail campaigns. They are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Direct Mail Business Development Manager / Sales Manager to join their team and drive business growth in the Midlands / South East region.

The chosen candidate will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to increase client base and revenue within the Midlands / South East region. This role requires a proactive and results-driven professional with a deep understanding of direct mail services and a proven track record in business development and sales. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong business acumen, and the ability to build lasting relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and target potential clients in the Midlands / South East region who can benefit from direct mail services.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market presence.
  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends and identify new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Understand client needs and provide tailored direct mail solutions to meet their marketing objectives.
  • Conduct presentations and product demonstrations to showcase our services and capabilities.
  • Prepare and present compelling sales proposals and quotations to potential clients.
  • Negotiate contracts and close sales deals to secure new business.
  • Ensure all contractual agreements are documented and comply with company policies.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, production, and customer service, to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.
  • Provide feedback and insights to improve our service offerings and customer experience.
  • Participate in regular sales meetings and contribute to the development of sales strategies.
  • Monitor sales performance and provide regular reports to senior management.
  • Analyse sales data to identify trends, measure effectiveness, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities and client interactions in the CRM system.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in business development and sales, preferably within the direct mail or related industry.
  • Strong understanding of direct mail services and marketing principles.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
