As an account manager within Canon’s Professional Print Private Sector Team, you play a vital part in growing this very successful business area with us. You will work with your existing customers to identify and implement new ways of improving their businesses using Canon’s leading digital production hardware, solutions and services portfolio. Alongside this, you will also develop new relationships with businesses, using your wealth of digital production knowledge and experience to become a trusted partner. You will have proven experience of working in a collaborative sales environment where your relationships with other key stakeholders help to identify new opportunities for Canon’s entire product portfolio.

This role is a combination of new and existing business, and you will be given the freedom to draw on your knowledge and experience to develop and maintain excellent knowledge and relationships with key contacts and decision makers in your sector.

Think of this role as running your own business, but with a huge amount of support behind you. Your sales pipeline is your responsibility, and you can plan how and when you will conduct account reviews with your customers.

Once you have implemented your solution, you have ownership of that solution and monitor, forecast and report on progress to agreed performance targets.

In terms of the support you are given, you have a team of technical consultants, sales managers, marketing managers, a highly skilled bid team and many other people within Canon to call upon to support you in your sale.

As you will be aware there are a number of high profile events that occur in the production arena, such as DRUPA and IPEX, where you will be expected to deliver an individual target, which should go some way towards your annual sales target in the period. Although these events are not frequent, you will support us at these events with your attendance, which may include weekends. Of course, the cost of your attendance is picked up by Canon.

If you are applying for this role, you already have a solid background in Production Print, ideally in Canon’s production offering, and have a proven record of delivering complex sales within the corporate sector. However, we will provide specific product training.

This is a field based role, so you will be given a company car or car allowance, so a full driving license is essential.

You will need enough focus and attention to detail to take time to develop and maintain account plans for each customer, using the tools and resources provided.

We expect our account managers to own Pre and Post Tender related activity, including the leadership of Tenders and proposals. The ability to sell the benefits and added value of the wider portfolio of Canon products and services will be of a huge benefit here.


You will need

Extensive experience of success selling production print solutions into corporate environments. Learning is continuous, and we will expect you to remain up to date with developments in the market. Of course, we will help you with this.

The ability to build strong, trust-based relationships through regular contact and reviews.

The skills to lead a cross functional team to implement and deliver your customer’s solution.

A passion and drive to succeed and be rewarded for that success. You’ll have sales a target, and you’ll need to forecast accurately against that target.

A highly self-disciplined approach. You get out what you put in, and will need to create business plans and approaches, with the support of your manager, to achieve success.

Charisma – the key to your success will be clearly and confidently articulating the propositions at your disposal to your customers and prospects, as well as inspiring your internal team with your vision for your customer.

Your focus is your customer and ensuring they have everything they need from Canon to make our partnership a success. This is not just around our products and solutions. You will be expected to positively contribute to our overarching aim of delivering exceptional customer service too.

Salary - £36,540 to £38,570 depending on experience, plus £47,000 (£85,570 OTE uncapped) on target commission and Company Car/Car Allowance
