Global outsourced Retail supply chain organisation, delivering packaging sourcing, promotional execution and supply chain analytics and integration, seeks to appoint a truly exceptional Packaging Development Manager to drive new packaging technology both in raw materials and final packaging designs, for innovative packaging development & Client support evolution.

Utilizing a diverse and dynamic network of packaging suppliers across Europe, you will lead the development of Packaging through project management from receiving and translating Customer briefs, supplier and raw material development, customer evaluation and testing through to approval and commercialisation.

Accustomed to supporting a strong Sales organisation in acquiring new customers, you will be the subject matter expert, utilising your acquired experience in a large FMCG or the food service industry, plus highly developed numerical, analytical and communication skills to build compelling propositions & drive packaging development from design and innovation through to practical commercialisation.

You will have a sound understanding of technical and manufacturing processes across rigid and flexible packaging, be business focussed, with an acquired array of strong skills and experience across various areas including process management, man-management, presentation and relationship building skills, as these will be key in liaising with Clients, internal teams and leveraging external supplier relationships.

Experienced in working across multi-functional teams, you will ideally have supply chain or packaging qualifications such as MCIPS or Certified Packaging Professional CPP (IoPP), along with proven professional accreditation in project management such as AgilePM/ Prince2.

Strong practical Packaging Development skills are also key, experience in 3D printing and CAD plotting table, Packaging photography and concept sketching ability in 3D perspective are essential, alongside a creative yet mature approach in packaging development, problem solving and cultural sensitivity as you will work effectively with Customers & Suppliers in multiple European locations

Ideally you will be educated to degree level with a packaging or scientific focus, proven knowledge of packaging related design systems coupled with significant management experience in food, FMCG or the packaging Industry.
