Major Packaging, Papers and Visual Communications merchant with a reputation for delivering ingenious solutions to customer's problems, seek an innovative individual with a packaging sales background to spearhead their Business Development & growth strategy in the Midlands/South of the UK.

With an established & significant base of customers within their traditional Print Papers market, they seek to exploit the significant potential to provide packaging solutions in addition to the products they currently supply.

We seek a Packaging consumables/materials Specialist in a remit to primarily drive sales of packaging to these Customers, working closely with the existing Account Managers who retain strong relationships across the current Client portfolio. You will have accountability for the total sales of Packaging products within the Print Papers market in the South and Midlands, engaging with Customers directly, but also targeting and supporting sales of packaging products through your colleagues - which will include a mix of joint visits, training, information sharing and coaching.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for Packaging sales within the print market in the Midlands / South
  • Develop a clear action plan for driving improved Packaging sales across the portfolio.
  • Build strong relationships at all levels of the existing sales team, increasing their effectiveness in selling Packaging products.
  • Engage directly with appropriate Customers to secure ongoing packaging sales.
  • Analyse the portfolio and identify effective actions to maximise growth, whilst developing new solutions for the market.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Packaging products, customers and market trends.
  • Training and Coaching of Sales professionals in product knowledge
  • Sales and Customer Service principles - including negotiation, influencing and communication skills.
  • Managing Customer portfolio margin
  • Self-Management principles including delivering against deadlines.
