At DS Smith Fordham, we have an exciting opportunity for a Conversion Manager. As the Conversion Manager, you will oversee the performance of the conversion function by effectively managing teams across shifts to meet Health & Safety, quality expectations, output requirements and cost targets. You will be responsible for Health & Safety/Environment, Quality Control, SFDC, Housekeeping, Performance, Waste, Preventative Maintenance, Communication, Continuous Improvement and Training. You will also support the Operations Manager to deliver the Key Objectives and KPIs.

 

The Role:

As a Conversion Manager, your key tasks will include the smooth running of the Conversion Department and the strategic development of these functions and its people and process.

The focus is to deliver world-class Service in a fast paced environment to delight customers and grow our business. To continually develop an environment that promotes constructive involvement and engagement for the Conversion teams.

 

We need a strong leader with a can do attitude able to coach their team to the best standards and perform well under strict deadlines. If you have experience in people management, excellent communicator and result driven, then this role is for you!

 

Ideally you will be working within a Packaging environment and bring outstanding process experience. You will have a demonstrable track record of implementing sustainable change as well as setting and surpassing KPIs.

 

The Candidate

Essentials:

• Knowledge of a manufacturing environment and continuous improvement tools and techniques

• Have a good people management ethic.

• Ability to demonstrate how our corporate values will be applied in the workplace:

• Ability to make decisions in a time pressured environment.

• Is driven by results.

• Microsoft Excel skills

 

Desirables:

• Educated to A level or technical qualification standard, or equivalent.

• Evidence of continuous learning and development during career.

• Background in Manufacturing

• Working knowledge of SFDC and Telephony systems.

• Experience of leading a team/people management, pro-active approach to change management

• Ability to make decisions in a time pressured environment.
