Job Summary:

  • Responsible for supporting the Production Manager to ensure the efficient operation of the shift
  • Supervising production staff to ensure all agreed processes and performance indicators are met
  • Constantly looking at new ways of improving processes and performance to drive efficiency, cost reduction and delivery of customer expectations

Key Responsibilities:

  • To support the Production Manager to ensure production targets and SLA’s for our customers are achieved
  • Constantly monitor individual operator and team performance ensuring daily targets are met
  • To promote a cultural environment of continuous improvement and quality achievement
  • Work with the Production Manager and Planning Team to coordinate the day-to-day running of Production
  • Motivate and mentor Production Operatives and identify areas of training required
  • Prioritise workloads throughout the day to ensure adherence to production and quality targets
  • Be conversant with all Production and company systems
  • Produce, maintain and organize required paperwork in a professional manner
  • Ensure materials and consumables are available in a timely manner to operators
  • Oversee and manage Company and departmental process and procedures
  • Assist in recording and implementing KPI’s where required
  • Assist in reducing costs within the department
  • Highlight and bring to attention any exposure or risk for the department or business
  • Adhere to and to manage H&S policy within the department
  • Use the ICMS system to escalate and effectively communicate to the business of operational issues
  • Undertake any other reasonable task as required by the Production Manager
  • Cover for Production Manager in their absence

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience as production manager (within manufacturing, preferably Print and Mail)
  • Deep knowledge of production management
  • Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations
  • Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts
  • Experience in reporting on key production metrics
  • Outstanding communication ability
  • Excellent organizational and leaderships skills
