Our Client is a Global Packaging Group operating with their primary markets in the UK within the Food, Wines, Spirits and Beverage sectors. Due to continued growth and investment they now require an additional Salesperson in the UK to focus on development of sales in the Premium Glass Packaging sector in line with global business strategy.

They are looking for people with a proven track record within the glass packaging sector who have confidence in their capabilities to deliver a range of highly innovative high end packaging designed to catch the attention of both consumers and retailers.

You will be expected increase sales, reduce customer costs and increase customer productivity for clients from small scale production units start ups, craft and artisan users and home use, right through to larger scale producers working hand in hand with design agencies.

Responsibilities include:
  • Identify and develop designated accounts/ targets to increase profitability and sales revenue
  • Listening to customer requirements and presenting appropriately to make a sale
  • Arranging meetings with potential customers to prospect for new business
  • Acting as a contact between a company and its existing and potential markets
  • Negotiating the terms of an agreement and closing sales
  • Gathering market and customer information
  • Representing the organisation at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations
  • Negotiating on price and costs, delivery and specifications with buyers and managers
  • Challenging any objections with a view to getting the customer to buy
  • Advising on forthcoming product developments and discussing special promotions
  • Liaising with suppliers to check the progress of existing orders
  • Recording sales and order information and sending copies to the sales office
  • Reviewing your own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets

Key deliverables:
  • You will establish business relationships that can be turned into profitable business
  • You will develop, and maintain, effective and strategic relationships with existing key customers and influence the positioning of the company with the customer
  • You will manage the revenue targets aligned with business objectives and targets
  • You will be the point of accountability for the customer and coordinate all internal customer functions to deliver against the customer's requirements
  • You will understand and manage the demand profiles for both the short and long term in order to provide accurate demand forecasting information
  • You will ensure customer satisfaction and drive action planning to improve the ongoing performance as measured by the customer scorecard
  • You will maintain sales volumes as well as seek and convert new business opportunities within each customer
  • You will develop, agree and execute account plans that deliver "win-win" value to the company and the customer
  • You will prepare concise visit reports and distribute, with specific actions and timelines
  • You will identify and monitor business risks and competitor activity and offer counter proposals to mitigate threats
