IT IS ESSENTIAL FOR THIS ROLE CANDIDATES ARE FLEXIBLE AND ABLE TO COVER THE FOLLOWING SHIFTS (THIS CAN BE AT SHORT NOTICE)

HOURS ON DOUBLE DAYS - 6am to 2pm & 2pm to 10pm

HOURS ON NIGHTS - 10pm to 6am

Our client are a leading packaging manufacturer and solutions provider.

They are currently looking to recruit a Support Shift Manager to cover sickness and holidays for 3 Shift Managers, working over 3 shifts. When covering you will lead and manage a team of up to 30 staff, optimise the running of the factory, meeting legislative requirements, achieving set targets and delivering customer expectations.

When you aren't covering for one of the Shift Managers, you will be given other tasks and projects to work on (please note, on very rare occasions you may be involved working on machinery)

Responsibilities / Requirements:
  • Ensure the optimised use of all resources within the factory in a safe and efficient manner
  • Achieve set targets and goals
  • Implement programmes to minimise downtime, waste and costs wherever possible
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection of new employees to maintain shift establishment levels
  • Performance manage employees to ensure that all personnel are well trained and highly motivated whilst being engaged in their work and with the company
  • Conduct performance appraisals and reviews throughout the year to support the development of staff and support the succession plan
  • Liaise with the sales department to ensure that agreed delivery promises are met on time and in full
  • Ensure that the levels of Health and Safety, housekeeping and hygiene are maintained to a high standard in an environment of continuous improvement
  • Ensure that materials are available in appropriate lead times and to agreed specifications
  • Ensure effective communications with all levels of factory personnel and external customers
  • Ensure that all procedures are carried out to specification, all relevant documentation is correctly completed, and all records are accurately kept in line with BRC procedures
