A wonderful opportunity to become an integral part of a leading marketing communications business who have Litho and Digital print facilities in-house.

Reporting into the Production Director, you will head up a team of 8 departmental heads and will oversee all aspects of day-to-day production operation, co-ordinating the efforts of all Production Departmental Managers to ensure a seamless, team-focussed, efficient production service to meet all customer and business requirements.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Jobs delivered in full, on time and to cost
  • Customer complaints resolved, and preventative action taken
  • Continuous quality and capacity improvements in line with agreed targets
  • Waste reduction in line with agreed targets
  • Reprint reductions in line with agreed targets
  • Development of reporting team of Managers in line with agreed Action Plans
  • Factory metrics used to improve efficiency



Key Accountabilities

  • Provide: leadership, direction, mentoring support and development, motivation, to all reporting Line Managers
  • Ensure all jobs are managed through production in a planned, seamless, timely, cost-effective manner
  • Ensure a co-ordinated, ‘joined-up’ production team is developed through a focus on open, clear communication
  • Ensure capacity is maximised
  • Ensure appropriate, cost-effective manning levels are maintained across all production departments
  • Organise and deliver a precise and controlled man power planning schedule giving cover and correct manning at all times
  • Demonstrate collaboration with colleagues to develop and maintain operations skills to the extent that periods of peak demand can be met
  • Appropriate and consistent use of all specified people management systems (90 day plans, disciplinary escalation, staff reviews) for all departments
  • To understand the MIS requirements for a modern print environment
  • To use and understand all 3rd party software & metrics to deliver client expectations
  • Report on departmental performance as required ensuring data capture is accurate and processes consistently followed
  • Using SMART objectives and agreed KPIs performance, manage all reporting Line Managers and ensure they do the same with their Direct Reports
  • Ensure all teams are regularly briefed on company performance, HR issues, customer feedback and health, safety and environmental issues
  • To drive the on-going development of Lean principles throughout all departments
  • Ensure that there is continuous improvement related to the quality of the company’s manufactured products
  • To monitor and advise on the performance of the quality management system
  • To comply with the Company’s Information Security Management System at all times
  • To comply with all Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System policies and procedures adopted by the Company at all times
  • To pro-actively participate in the development, operation and improvement of the Company’s Management Systems in relation to our external accreditations and legal obligations, for example, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 and Health and Safety
  • To represent the Company at external functions in a proper and professional manner, whenever required, having an informed opinion from the Company’s perspective
  • To be well presented for work and conduct yourself in a professional and responsible manner at all times
  • To fulfill the Company’s requirements with regard to the Company’s Management Information Systems at all times
  • To follow all administrative procedures adopted by the Company at all times
