DS Smith Ely are looking for an Operations Team Leader to lead the designated team of operators to safely deliver the production plan, aiming for 100% On Time In Full delivery. You will need to support the site in developing and executing strategy to continue to grow and improve the business.

What aspects are involved in this role?

• Responsible for ensuring and promoting adherence to all Health, Safety, Hygiene and Environmental laws as well as local policies
• Conducting at least twice a year performance reviews with your team, and take responsibility for meeting individuals development needs
• Leading and Managing, on a daily basis, the performance of all team members
• Ensuring 100% quality at all times, working with teams and other departments to ensure all procedures are followed correctly
• Monitoring the logging of performance and quality data onto various business systems, including the shop floor data capture system, MIS and OEE. Use this information to drive performance improvement
• Checking and signing off all machine start up checks and record findings on relevant forms
• Working with agency provider to plan agency labour requirements on a daily and weekly basis
• Responsible for the performance of agency colleagues on your shift
• Working closely with area manager and the wider business to constantly find ways of improving performance in all areas
• Communicating effectively and professionally with colleagues across multiple sites, to ensure that essential information is shared, and acted upon quickly

What we would like our candidate to have:

• Confident communicator in written and spoken English
• Numerically confident, and capable of performing calculations quickly and accurately
• People management experience in a fast- paced manufacturing environment
• People management or technical qualifications would be an advantage
• Competent at using email and various business systems, including SAP
• Resilient, and determined to succeed
• Must display an ability to be organised and in control
• Flexible approach, with the ability to deal with constantly changing customer demands, and tight deadlines

Shift 1:

Week 1 - 6am to 2.15pm Mon to Fri
week 2 - 2.15pm to 10.30pm Mon to Fri

Shift 2:

Week 1 - 2.15pm to 10.30pm Mon to Fri
Week 2 - 6am to 2.15pm Mon to Fri
