Our client is a large well-known company and one of the UK's leading exhibition and event services suppliers. They are currently looking for an Assistant Event Production Manager join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational delivery and commercial performance of the events they work on. This involves coordinating, planning and overseeing the delivery of services including but not limited to design, floor-planning, build (modular and custom build), electrics, AV, furniture, floorcovering etc.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as a point of contact for clients and ensure client satisfaction is met; managing information flow both internally and externally with the client and third-party suppliers during the pre-planning stages
  • Manage onsite resources during build / break of event, liaison with division Site Managers and maintain open communication with the client
  • Provide onsite presence during open hours of the event to maintain the single point of contact for the client
  • Build relationships with clients and stakeholders, including event organisers', contractors, venues and third-party suppliers
  • Understand customer's operational plans, intents and needs
  • Grow the business by proactively introducing additional services to client base
  • Strive to deliver total customer satisfaction and regularly monitor satisfaction levels
  • Challenge others in the organisation to resolve customer related problems
  • Cost new jobs and attend meetings with a view to securing new business where necessary
  • Provide regular financial updates including commercial reports and Salesforce records
  • Review and manage revenue and margin performance in line with business expectations
  • Negotiate effectively with customers and suppliers
  • Work with finance to ensure they employ "best practice" where invoicing is concerned
  • Support development of the events team and contribute to the sharing of best practice
  • Actively engage in continuous improvement ensuring suggestions and opportunities are highlighted to the Line Manager
  • Demonstrate commitment to the core values of the company
  • Participate in the company's sustainability initiative and ensure where possible your actions support the achievement of this initiative; reuse, recycle and replenish

  • Develop and maintain positive and progressive working relationships both internally and externally, in order to facilitate growth and integration across the business
  • You may be required to work evenings and weekends during busy periods in order to meet the demands of the business, including overseas travel as required


Requirements:
  • Experience within the exhibition / events industry is essential
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with minimal supervision
  • Sales and commercial experience are desirable but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and listening)
  • Self-motivation and able to manage own workload
  • Time management and prioritisation
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Good decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Working on your own, using initiative, as well as being an enthusiastic team player
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
