SALES ADVISOR - Packaging Materials


£20K + Company Bonus (after 6 month probation successfully completed) + 20 Days Holiday + Internal Incentives

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday; 8am to 5pm, 8:30am to 5:30am OR 9am to 6pm (only applies Monday to Thursday)

Our client is a leading distributor of packaging throughout Europe. Providing clients with a broad range of products in stock including cardboard boxes and cartons, bubble wrap and protective packaging, polythene bags and sealing, packaging tape and dispensers, gift and retail packaging, stretch, shrink, palletising and strapping to name just a few.

They are currently looking to recruit 2 Sales Advisors to join their Sales Department who will report to the Sales Manager.

  • First line response to all sales phone calls, enquiries and live chats
  • Inputting orders and quoting customers on their requirements - cross & up-selling every call
  • Accurate and efficient input of all web orders through company order integration
  • Maintenance of the company customer database
  • Distribution of sales leads within the wider sales department
  • Reactivate inactive and declining customer segments through sustained outbound call campaigns
  • Identify and Qualify leads from all new customers for the Internal Account Executive Team and arrange visits for the Field Sales Team
  • Outbound to potential customers identified by the Marketing Team
  • Covering the reception function for limited periods (Sickness, Lunch and Holiday)

  • Excellent phone manner and customer service skills
  • Understanding of fundamental selling skills and techniques
  • Strong ability to build rapport with people of all backgrounds
  • Ability to input data electronically both at speed and with exceptional accuracy
  • Flexible / adaptable approach to new tasks
  • Ability to manage numerous tasks at once prioritising work independently without supervision
  • Articulate & highly organised approach to work
  • High level of typing speed, accuracy and efficiency
  • Accurate record keeping and reporting
  • Positive, enthusiastic, flexible and determined
  • Excellent IT system skills

Experience / Qualifications:
  • 5 + C or greater GCSE or above qualifications
  • 1 years' proven experience operating in an inbound sale specific role
  • Can demonstrate outstanding organisational skills from previous jobs or experience
  • Experience working quickly and efficiently on in-house computer systems including good working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience selling over the phone is desirable but not essential
  • Previous experience covering administrative duties is desirable but not essential

Results Areas:
  • Hitting role specific KPI's such as inbound / outbound call rates & quality, cross & up-sell frequency and success and error rate as a % of orders placed
  • Accurate and efficient management of the company database
  • Quantity and quality of lead information passed to the Sales Team
  • Adaptability in taking on new tasks and responsibilities
