We are seeking a Print Production Specialist to work in our digital print Smart Factory. This is a hands-on role with leadership and coaching responsibilities. Working within our state-of-the-art Web and Sheet fed colour printing and finishing operations, the successful applicant will ensure efficient production of high-quality products. The role demands frequent interactions with our customers (and other key stakeholders) and the successful applicant will be able to convey the primary technical benefits of our digital proposition.

 

Job Requirements

Manage and execute all operational tasks for Web and Sheet fed print and finishing processes in a print  production environment, taking responsibility to judge quality and to instruct or make necessary adjustments to achieve highest possible quality levels in line with customer expectations.

Lead the identification and resolution of setup and running problems. Investigate and make required adjustments to produce the highest quality print whilst ensuring maximum availability of machines.

Ensure all planned maintenance of presses is carried out including parts replacement , calibration and computer based analysis . Investigate and solve machine and print problems.

Lead demonstration of the end to end digital and physical work flow processes e.g. pre press, job submission, printing and finishing during customer briefings and answer relevant questions for Web and Sheet Fed Operations team.

 

Key Skills & Attributes

Must be an effective decision maker to make judgements in relation to the quality of print and bindery processes.
Must be an excellent communicator with the ability to influence and build strong, positive and effective relationships with key stakeholders and customers.
Must be able to prioritise and manage high pressure demands. Can work to tight deadlines.
Must be flexible in order to meet the requirements of the business. Has the ability to effectively solve problems when the need arises.
Must be self motivated, proactive and a strong team worker.

 

Qualifications & Experience

Ideally at least 10 years hands on experience in a technical lead, graphic arts role.
Experience within a web fed environment is essential.
Computer literate to application level, with knowledge of key graphics suites e.g. Creative Suite and Acrobat
Previous management experience is essential
Must be committed to own Continuous Professional Development to keep up to date on technical innovations and professional expertise.
