AREA SALES MANAGER - CAPITAL EQUIPMENT

WEST MIDLANDS / NORTH WEST / NORTH WALES

Salary £40-45K + Uncapped Comission + Company Car + Workplace Pension

Our client is a world leading manufacturer of labelling systems, responsible for the design and manufacture of high specification, high quality labelling equipment with a range of standard and customised bespoke purpose machinery. With a worldwide presence, our client has a very wide customer base from sole traders to Blue Chip companies across a broad spectrum of markets and industries, including among others Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, Healthcare, Toiletry and Cosmetics.

They are currently seeking a dedicated, dynamic Area Sales Manager for the North West region covering from Coventry and Birmingham to Shropshire and North Wales, across to Derbyshire and as far north as Carlisle. The primary responsibilities of this role include overseeing all sales activities within the designated territory from initial customer enquiry through the quotation phase and up to the final point of sale.

The ideal candidate will report directly to the Sales Manager, playing an essential role in facilitating and supporting the entire sales process.

Responsibilities:


Sales Target Achievement:

  • Achieve pre-determined sales targets for the territory.
  • Prepare a sales strategy to meet defined targets.

Profitability and Customer Focus:

  • Maximise profitability from sales achieved.
  • Provide an accurate and reliable interpretation of the customer's requirements to ensure supplied goods are fit for purpose.

Customer Engagement Activities:

  • Conduct customer site surveys.
  • Attend exhibitions.

Product Knowledge and Collaboration:

  • Possess a detailed working knowledge of the company's entire product portfolio.
  • Ensure credit worthiness of potential and existing customers.
  • Undertake occasional visits to the parent company in Europe as required.

Operational Excellence:

  • Comply with all standard working procedures issued by the company.
  • Meet and adhere to standard company housekeeping guidelines and procedures.

Performance Reporting and Communication:

  • Provide monthly reports detailing the area's performance.
  • Attend regular sales meetings.

The Candidate:

Suitable candidates will need to be focused; self motivated, with a team player mentality and display:

  • Attention to detail.
  • A logical, calm approach to solving problems.
  • Be able to work on own initiative.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft products.
  • A current full UK driving license is an essential requirement.
  • A track record of sales within capital equipment, print or packaging industries will be beneficial, alternatively a graduate with an engineering background could be consider for a junior Sales programme.
