BLOWN FILM EXTRUSION OPERATOR

Trainee level starting at £11.50/12ph then increasing to £13.50/14ph. Up to £16/17ph for experienced Operators.

Hours of work: 12-hour shifts (4 ON / 4 OFF rotating Days and Nights)

Our client is a leading flexible packaging manufacturer who supply carrier bags into retail markets. They are currently recruiting for a Blown Film Extrusion Operator to join their expanding team. The company can offer full training to candidates with any kind of film experience and can fast track trainees with the right attitudes who are looking to build a solid career path.

You will be producing polythene films to meet the customers specifications i.e Colour, Gauge, and Machine Properties. This will be to produce film printed on the roll for conversion onto carrier bags.

Responsibilities:

  • You must always work with a very hight attention to detail.
  • Set up dies, extrusion machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Observe the machine operation to detect profile defects or machine malfunction and readjust to the operating conditions.
  • Conduct quality checks by measuring product dimensions to determine the accuracy of the machine operation.
  • To move the finished product and place into the racking.
  • To carry scrap to the designated cages for baling or recycling.
  • Fill the hopper, and perform minor machine maintenance such as lubrication, filter change and cleaning dies.
  • Ensure that all rolls are made to the required specification.
  • Ensure that all production sheets are filled out correctly, and accurately.
  • Always ensure quality control is maintained.
  • Ensure all samples are taken and all QC paperwork is filled out correctly.
  • Keep scrap to a minimum and make every effort to avoid unnecessary scrap levels.
  • You must report any maintenance issues promptly.
  • To participate and ensure a smooth handover between shifts.
  • Ensure all reels are banded correctly and labelled correctly and clearly.
  • Ensure that all bins are filled before the end of the shift and that solvent and inks are fully stocked on the floor.
