Our Client is a leader in ID, Smart Tickets / Cards and Transport Solutions. They are looking to recruit a Business Development Director to Manage and head up sales amongst the UK and International transit markets establishing new business including Smartcards, Digital Mobile Ticketing and upselling additional products within the companies portfolio.

Reporting into the Global Sales Director and working with the UK and International regions the Business Development Director will be required to head up, identify, engage and secure new transit operators for the successful sales of smart cards & mobile ticketing and solutions as well as creating the correct partnerships for success within the market.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead the development of new business smart card and mobile ticketing & related products
  • Creation of transit relationships amongst rail, bus & tram
  • Liaise with product team to communicate opportunity and market requirements
  • Manage and own tender and RFP responses
  • Key knowledge ebase of software transit and hardware
  • Creativity and vision to help introduce a product into the market
  • Work with the Global Sales Director to develop growth strategies across the UK taking into account industry movement and new market trends
  • Deliver on financial commitments which include revenue, profitability and margin requirements

Key Deliverables:

  • Own, negotiate and close sales deals to hit and exceed targets set by the business
  • Demonstrate leadership to drive new market openings & develop new business opportunities.
  • Accurate weekly/monthly financial forecasting
  • Provide roadmaps to customers and promote the company's vison
  • Be comfortable at presenting online and face to face to both positioning the company to succeed
  • To respond to market requirements for cross selling of products
  • Tender management
  • Produce management reports to exec team & customers
