I have an excellent client looking recruit a Business Development Director to manage and head up sales amongst the UK and International transit markets establishing new business including Smartcards, Digital Mobile Ticketing and upselling additional products within the company portfolio. You will head up a team of 8 staff across the Sales and Client Service Team.

Reporting into the General Manager, working with UK and International regions whilst managing a batch of key customers and suppliers. You will be hungry for the successful sales of smart cards and transit related products creating the correct partnerships for continuous growth within the market.

Role / Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of new business smart card and transit related products
  • Creation of new transit relationships amongst rail, bus and tram
  • Setting the strategy and improving processes around winning, retaining, and expanding clients and partner relationships
  • Work in collaboration with Head of Digital to cross-sell the companies products
  • Manage key supplier relationships
  • Manage own tender and RFP responses
  • Gain key knowledge of the card market across different business fields
  • Develop growth strategies across the UK taking into account industry movement and new market trends
  • Deliver on financial commitments which include revenue, profitability and margin requirements

Key Deliverables:

  • Own, negotiate and close sales deals to hit and exceed targets set by the business
  • Demonstrate leadership to drive new market openings and develop new business opportunities.
  • Accurate weekly/monthly financial forecasting
  • Provide roadmaps to customers and promote the companies vison
  • Become a market facing ambassador for the company
  • Be comfortable at presenting online and face to face to both positioning the company to succeed
  • To respond to market requirements for cross selling of products
  • Full P&L responsibility of designated product range
  • Tender management
  • Produce management reports to Executive team and customers
