Our Client is a very well established, profitable and highly recognised independent carton manufacturer who service an impressive customer based within a wide range of industries including food, automotive, petcare, engineering, healthcare etc. Through their own fleet of vehicles our client distributes throughout the UK. They are a long established business with an innovative flair who pride themselves on quality, reliability, attention to detail and always providing the highest level of customer service.

They are currently looking for a Business Development Manager who has a good understanding of the packaging industry particularly in printed folded cartons. This position will be developing new business for one of the companies manufacturing sites. You will be allocated an existing portfolio of accounts, coupled with an extensive database of researched and qualified carton users. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate an enthusiastic professional approach with a desire to generate new business from a targeted market.

Key Responsibilities:

• The ideal candidate will be from a background in printed folding cartons (any market sector is fine)
• Proven sales professional with the ability to identify and secure new business opportunities and build a portfolio of accounts to manage.
• Working within a team of three and working closely with the management team
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to overcome pricing issues
• You will be self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, a clear focus on high quality and business profit
• A natural forward planner who critically assesses their own performance
• Ambitious, credible, and comfortable in dealing with both internal and external contacts
• Reliable, tolerant, and determined
• Empathic communicator, well presented and business like
• Commercial awareness
• Strong technical knowledge
