BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER EUROPE - SILAGE FILM

UK, GERMANY, OR FRANCE

Salary £65-80K + 15-25% Bonus based on KPI's + Car + Laptop

My client is a Global Leader in flexible packaging manufacturing with a strong sales position in Europe within Food and Non-Food markets. The company is a successful innovator, committed to sustainable practices, with many awards and accreditations to their name. The company strives to make the most efficient use of natural resources, to reduce waste and complies with environmental laws and regulations and supports recycling and re-use activities.

Due to market growth in the Agricultural Films Division, they now require a European Business Development Manager to develop accounts specifically for Silage Films for global markets. The ideal candidate can be based in the UK, in Germany or in France and will ideally be multi-lingual.

The Role:

Reporting to the Business Director, you will be responsible for new business development and the management of an existing portfolio of customers in the Agricultural Films segment. Your objectives will be to contribute significant sales growth to the company as they grow their market share in this sector.

Key Attributes:

  • Extensive knowledge of the European non-food flexible packaging market (specifically agriculture industry / silage films) with a proven track record of sales.
  • Experience of working with blue chip companies/ key customers.
  • Capability to manage key customers.
  • Proven track record of successfully selling in a true business development role to medium- big sized businesses.
  • Sound understanding of all flexible packaging conversion processes.
  • Good technical knowledge to manage and implement new product developments.
  • Proven track record of opening new accounts and successfully growing turnover and profitability.
  • Ability to prioritise opportunities - markets, products and customers.
  • Proven record of working effectively with R & D and manufacturing.
  • Ready to visit customers daily and report visits to head office or delegate to the team.
  • Ready to assist customers to factory visits when or delegate to the team.
  • Sound understanding of all consumer trends and packaging issues.
  • Good cross-cultural understanding.
  • Language skills - preferably English, German, French.
  • Self-starter, high energy.
  • Effective communicator, verbal, written and electronic presentations.
  • IT skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to effectively operate remotely.
  • Good team working ethic.
  • Profit orientation.
