About the job

A specialist in luxury packaging is looking for an experienced production operator to join them during an exciting growth period.

This is a great opportunity for someone with case making or book binding experience to join a dedicated team that works hard to ensure clients receive products on time and to the highest possible quality.

The role will also involve operating and maintaining various case making equipment including automatic gluing machines and case making machines as well as producing work by hand.

As many of these tasks involve more than one operator, you will be responsible for organising a small team of production assistants, working at various stages of the case making process such as spotting, edge turning and QC.

Key Duties

  • Wrapping packaging products in short to medium run lengths by hand or with various levels of automation.
  • Running various automatic / semi-automatic machines including: Gluing and edge turning machines - Automatic/semi automatic case-making machines
  • Ensuring that all work is produced to the highest quality standard.
  • Following production schedule to ensure that orders are completed on time.
  • Organising production assistants to help in the case making process.
  • Performing equipment setups and clean-downs.
  • Maintaining equipment and working area.
  • Identifying any issues that could impact the production performance and seeking to resolve them using practical problem-solving methods.
  • Using software systems to acquire job information and report in a timely manner.
  • Using Lean principles in an effort to continuously improve productivity.

Fulfilling the above requires someone with good glue management, edging turning and spotting skills, along with attention to detail and an eye for quality.
