An exciting opportunity has become available within our Food on the Move category, as the Label and Board Category Director.


Location

Hybrid working available. The Food on the Move category is predominately produced out of our Cambridgeshire sites, however we also have sites in South Lincolnshire, Northumberland and Dorset. Travel to customers is also required.

The Role

If so, this role could be for you, please read below the key responsibilities, knowledge and experience required within the role.

Whilst reporting directly to the BU Sales Director - Paper, you would be responsible for managing a team of at least 6 people, whilst being a Senior member within the Paper Sales Function.

You will have overall responsibility for the Food on the Move Category, working in collaboration with colleagues in External Sales, Internal Sales, as well as the Operational team, Human Resources, NPD and other key stakeholders.

You will be the Key contact with customers within the Food on the Move Category for any strategic, escalation, new product or legislation changes to ensure we provide a proactive customer service, because we always have the customer at our heart.

You will have the opportunity to develop and coach a fantastic team, whilst collectively ensuring you strive to deliver the packaging sales budget for the Food on the Move category across labels and board in the UK and Europe, which encompasses: Private Label Market, High Street Retailers, Quick Service Restaurant, Specialist Coffee, Casual Dining. The role will be heavily involved in the annual budget setting process which takes place between September – December each year.

The ideal candidate should have the capability to ensure they have full awareness of the customer needs, whilst delivering first class customer service within the category. You would be able to predict any trend changes within your product areas that will impact on the development of packaging sales, as well as the introduction of other pack formats to your customers by recognising where there is a need driven by consumer/legislation/market.


Knowledge/Experience

❖ Adaptable - Holding key relationships with high sales revenue accounts is just as important as forming a relationship with our small and medium accounts

❖ Agile - Be able to think and understand quickly, having top level discussions, to those more direct conversations

❖ Development – Be able to develop the team around you and always look for ways to improve the service

❖ Labels/Board – 5+ years of packaging experience and in-depth knowledge of the private label market and process. Understand the technical processes involved

❖ Manage – Proven track record in managing a team

❖ Relationships – Formed with Key UK stakeholders for Food on the Move. Be able to effectively communicate, negotiate and influence

❖ Customer centric – Understands the Food on the Move Market and ability to predict future needs

❖ Legislation – It would be advantageous if you had good understanding of any legislation changes that affect this category

❖ New Product Development – Share ideas and development of an NPD pipeline in line with customer/market needs Desirable

❖ 5 + years in the Food on the Move category

❖ Skills and knowledge of the Key Account Planning Process

❖ Familiarity with the product offering across labels and board for the Food on the Move market
