COMMERCIAL MANAGER - CORRUGATED PACKAGING

WEST YORKSHIRE

Salary £Open (Depending on Experience)

Our client is a well-established corrugated packaging manufacturer based in West Yorkshire.

They are currently looking to recruit a Commercial Manager to help grow the business. For this role you will be part of a new expansion plan within the business with excellent career opportunities and will be instrumental in helping them execute the plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of six
  • To facilitate effectively all customer pricing enquiries, making proactive contact with customers, suppliers and the production team where necessary and procuring the necessary information to facilitate a positive outcome
  • Ensuring the external sales team is enabled to focus on sales growth and new business delivery wherever possible
  • Proactively deal with new opportunities that are presented to the business and manage existing accounts within the region
  • Managing organisational sales by developing a business plan that covers sales, revenue, margin of existing accounts
  • Direct commercial management responsibility for all allocated customers and prospects including budget/plan delivery, working capital management and cross selling
  • Meeting planned growth and retention goals
  • To provide external technical support to customers and the sales team where required
  • To manage the administration of customer product and price lists
  • To manage the administration of supplier material pricing agreements, movements and updates
  • To ensure the effective implementation of all product price movements (increases or decreases) to all customers working closely with the external sales team to achieve this
  • To support the other members of the internal sales team to ensure first class customer service and administration is maintained at all times for all customers
  • To maintain an in-depth and technical, up to date knowledge of the Packaging market materials, products, innovations and service offerings
  • Tracking sales goals and reporting results as necessary
  • Overseeing the activities and performance of the commercial team
  • Coordinating with marketing on lead generation
  • The ongoing training of our commercial team
  • Developing our commercial team through motivation, counselling, and product knowledge education
  • Promoting the organisation and products
  • Understand our ideal customers and how they relate to our products

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a role of this nature, within a corrugated box manufacturing environment
  • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Be able to demonstrate resilience, drive and have a focus on delivery results
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong communication skills via email, telephone or face to face will be essential as well as a strong knowledge of all programmes within the Microsoft Office package
  • We want someone who can come with ideas and can be creative around all things business development
  • Degree in business or related field
  • Experience in planning and implementing sales strategies
  • Experience in customer relationship management
  • Experience managing and directing a commercial team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Dedication to providing great customer service
  • Ability to lead a commercial team
