COMMERCIAL MANAGER - CORRUGATED PACKAGING
WEST YORKSHIRE

Our client is a well-established corrugated packaging manufacturer based in West Yorkshire.
They are currently looking to recruit a Commercial Manager to help grow the business. For this role you will be part of a new expansion plan within the business with excellent career opportunities and will be instrumental in helping them execute the plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of six
- To facilitate effectively all customer pricing enquiries, making proactive contact with customers, suppliers and the production team where necessary and procuring the necessary information to facilitate a positive outcome
- Ensuring the external sales team is enabled to focus on sales growth and new business delivery wherever possible
- Proactively deal with new opportunities that are presented to the business and manage existing accounts within the region
- Managing organisational sales by developing a business plan that covers sales, revenue, margin of existing accounts
- Direct commercial management responsibility for all allocated customers and prospects including budget/plan delivery, working capital management and cross selling
- Meeting planned growth and retention goals
- To provide external technical support to customers and the sales team where required
- To manage the administration of customer product and price lists
- To manage the administration of supplier material pricing agreements, movements and updates
- To ensure the effective implementation of all product price movements (increases or decreases) to all customers working closely with the external sales team to achieve this
- To support the other members of the internal sales team to ensure first class customer service and administration is maintained at all times for all customers
- To maintain an in-depth and technical, up to date knowledge of the Packaging market materials, products, innovations and service offerings
- Tracking sales goals and reporting results as necessary
- Overseeing the activities and performance of the commercial team
- Coordinating with marketing on lead generation
- The ongoing training of our commercial team
- Developing our commercial team through motivation, counselling, and product knowledge education
- Promoting the organisation and products
- Understand our ideal customers and how they relate to our products
Requirements:
- The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a role of this nature, within a corrugated box manufacturing environment
- Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills
- Be able to demonstrate resilience, drive and have a focus on delivery results
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong communication skills via email, telephone or face to face will be essential as well as a strong knowledge of all programmes within the Microsoft Office package
- We want someone who can come with ideas and can be creative around all things business development
- Degree in business or related field
- Experience in planning and implementing sales strategies
- Experience in customer relationship management
- Experience managing and directing a commercial team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Dedication to providing great customer service
- Ability to lead a commercial team
