DIE CUTTING OPERATOR - CARTONS

Salary £14-£17 per hour (Depending on Experience) + Overtime - With an additional £40 per shift when working a late shift

Shift Pattern: Day Shift: Monday to Thursday 7:30am - 4:30pm & Friday 7:30am - 3:40pm
There is this the possibility of a Fixed Late Shift: Monday to Thursday 3:30pm - 12:30am & 3:30pm - 11:40pm Friday

Our client is a specialist food packaging manufacturer based in the South East. They are a great company to work for who really do look after their staff and put a strong emphasis on customer service. In turn they look to develop lasting partnerships with their customers and suppliers. They offer their clients a full service from design through to delivery, providing them with a range of fast food, take away and bakery packaging products from green materials.

They are currently looking to recruit a Die Cutting Operator to join their growing production team. You will be responsible for operating a Bobst Novacut Die Cutting Machine or Asahi Die Cutting Machinery to create precise cartons from paper-based materials. Ensuring the production runs smoothly and efficiently maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and maintain sheet fed die cutting machinery, including Bobst Novacut and Asahi die cutters
  • Verify job details before feeding the press and perform necessary adjustments
  • Conduct daily press maintenance and lubrication tasks
  • Work enthusiastically to achieve production targets
  • Inspect pallets after cutting and complete daily quality checklists
  • Perform make-ready and preventive maintenance activities
  • Maintain accurate daily records of time, materials usage, and production information
  • Assist with hand packing duties as needed
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols, hygiene procedures, and allergen management practices related to BRC compliance
  • Report any potentially unsafe conditions or non-compliance issues to a supervisor for documentation and corrective action
  • Effectively communicate any quality concerns or customer complaints to designated personnel

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Sheet Fed Die Cutting Operator (essential)
  • Experience operating machinery similar to Bobst or Asahi die cutters (a plus)
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A willingness to learn and adapt
  • Manufacturing experience preferred (essential)
  • Experience with hand jacks, electric pallet jacks, and forklifts preferred (a plus)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for extended periods, bending, squatting, reaching, lifting
