The Role:

We are seeking a skilled Digital Press Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in operating and maintaining digital printing presses, ensuring high-quality output and efficient production processes. You will be responsible for setting up and operating digital presses, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring all printed materials meet our stringent quality standards.

Collaboration with the production team will be essential in meeting deadlines and optimizing workflow. Attention to detail, technical proficiency, and a commitment to quality are vital for success in this role. Candidates should have experience with various digital printing technologies and be adaptable to new equipment and software.

Additionally, you will manage print jobs from inception to completion, overseeing pre-press preparation, colour calibration, and post-press finishing. 

Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are crucial. 

 

Location:

You will be based at our Lancing, West Sussex facility.

But be willing to travel overseas for training opportunities. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate digital printing presses.
  • Perform routine maintenance on digital presses. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve printing issues effectively. 
  • Ensure the high-quality output of printed materials. 
  • Manage print jobs from start to finish. 
  • Conduct pre-press preparation and colour calibration. 
  • Perform post-press finishing tasks. 
  • Collaborate with the production team to meet deadlines. 
  • Optimize workflow for increased efficiency. 
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment. 
  • Monitor inventory levels of printing supplies. 
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards. 
  • Document production activities and maintain records. 
  • Assist in training new operators. 
  • Stay abreast of new printing technologies and techniques. 

 

Required Skills:

  • Strong time management and attention to detail. 
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with account managers and studio teams. 
  • Experience operating digital printing presses. 
  • Technical proficiency with digital printing equipment. 
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. 
  • Strong teamwork capabilities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Knowledge of pre-press and post-press processes. 
  • Familiarity with colour calibration techniques. 
  • Capability to manage multiple print jobs simultaneously. 
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with printing software. 
  • Physical ability to lift and move printing materials. 
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime. 
  • Strong organizational skills. 
  • Adherence to safety protocols.
