DIGITAL PRINT / PACK CUT / PACK OPERATOR - LARGE FORMAT

DERBYSHIRE

£Open (Depending on Experience) + Pension + 25 Days Holiday (Plus Bank
Holidays) + Tea & Coffee Provided

Hours: 6:00am to 2:00pm / 2:00pm to 10:00pm (Rotating Weekly)

Our client are Europe's leading manufacturer and supplier of Temporary Protection Materials,
used to protect expensive fixtures and fittings, for the construction industry.

They are currently looking to recruit a Print Operator, to operate and maintain large format printers and digital cutters to produce work to acceptable and defined quality standards, output and scrap performance criteria whilst adhering to all health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities / Requirements:

  • Reporting directly to the Shift Manager
  • Accuracy and good attention to detail
  • Proactive team player and self-starter
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good computer and mechanical skills
  • Experience in operating wide format and direct to substrate digital printers desirable
  • Experience in the sign making industry an advantage
  • Strong customer focus
  • Ability to multitask and work on various deadlines simultaneously
  • Previous use of digit print / cut software is an advantage
  • Must be able to lift up to 25kg
  • To follow all company procedures as per training
  • Complete production documentation up to date
  • To comply with company's recycling procedures
  • To maintain an orderly and organised working environment

Print Operation Responsibilities:

  • Operate various printing equipment and checks file integrity and troubleshoots file size issues. Transports electronic files to meet project specifications
  • To produce work as per daily running schedule and ensure that deadlines are met
  • Perform quality inspection before, during, and after the output of each production run
  • To be responsible for ensuring all daily and weekly maintenance is carried out and recorded
  • Finishing goods with labelling and packaging for booking in and picking operations
  • Carry out weekly stock takes to maintain good levels of ink and cleaning equipment
  • Minimise waste of any materials used to print on by maximising the print areas
  • Using the Printer software

Digital Cut Operation

  • Operating the computerized cutting machine to cut materials according to specifications
  • Performing maintenance on equipment such as replacing cutting blades or lubricating bearings to ensure it runs smoothly
  • Load, position, and adjust materials in equipment loading and feeding mechanisms
  • Pack and label cartons, boxes, or bins of finished products
  • Follow daily press schedule
  • To make sure all planned jobs are readily available to minimise down time between change overs
  • Use of the digital cut software
  • Document all quality control results
