Our client is an independent, specialist manufacturer of both printed folded cartons and litholam to a variety of market sectors including food, household and pharmaceutical (no pharma accreditation).
They are currently looking to recruit an Estimator to join their team reporting to the Customer Service Manager. You will be utilizing the computerized estimating system, updating system, updating it regularly with pricing changes. This role will use appropriate communication, IT, administration, ethical sales methods and relevant internal liaison to optimize quality of service, business growth and customer satisfaction levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to enable the best estimate and job progression through the business
- Follow systems and procedures outlined in the company manuals
- Participate as a key team player by supporting operations as needed
- Prepare estimates for production jobs based on customer specifications as received from customers, sales representatives, customer service representatives and directors
- Support strategic sales plan and marketing strategies outlined by the sales team
- Assist in the promotion of cost-effective customer orientated solutions
- Price all production work using proven standards
- Estimate nonstandard work in conjunction with the Managing Director, Commercial Director and Customer Service Manager
- Maintain and develop existing and new customers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods, and relevant internal liaison, to optimise quality of service, business growth and customer satisfaction
- Use customer and prospect contact activities tools and systems, and update relevant information held in these systems
- Respond to and follow up sales enquiries using appropriate methods
- Record, analyse, report and administer according to systems and requirements
- Updating pricing information on the MIS system (Shuttleworth) as required
- Communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate and support the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships
- Attend internal meetings the company deem necessary to perform duties and aid business development
- Provide other office support and cover during holiday periods & when department requires
- Carry out any other reasonable requests by management
- Attend training and develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills
- Adhere to hygiene, quality, health and safety policies, and other requirements relating to company
Requirements:
- Experience working within packaging or commercial print
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Computer skills - ability to assimilate and use computer-based information
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills, including a keen attention to detail
- Able to work as part of a team or independently as required
