About the job

The role of the Fabrication Manager is to achieve "Right First Time" event builds that are within budget and adhere to all Health & Safety guidelines and procedures across a variety of clients and markets with a specific focus on live events of varying sizes.

You will work closely with the Operations Manager, Project Managers and carpenters and the wider operations team in ensuring all projects and live build installations are delivered and all requirements and needs of the client are met and exceeded.

As Fabrication Manager you will provide comprehensive support and leadership on projects and tasks with day-to-day job requirements such as:

  • Attending daily production meetings
  • Working with Project Managers to create build schedules and develop build and event ideas
  • Updating the internal MIS
  • Creation of build drawings for projects that can be shared with the wider team for build purposes
  • Liaising with clients as well as co-ordinating various tradesman onsite

The successful Fabrication Manager will have practical build, construction and site project management experience as well as Event & Exhibition build, Festivals, Roadshows and leadership qualities.

Key skills required:

  • Excellent timekeeping and good communication skills
  • Comfortable with manual lifting and working at heights
  • CAD understanding is very beneficial
  • Knowledge of Octanorm and event build systems
  • Carpentry/joinery skills and experience
  • Knowledge of electrical LED lighting systems and AV would be advantageous
  • Excellent ability to project manage, problem solve and work to deadlines
  • Fantastic organisational skills with an ability to multi-task and prioritise
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literate with knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Ability to liaise with clients as well as co-ordinate various tradesman onsite
  • Effective time management skills with an ability to work to multiple deadlines
  • Health & Safety trained to delivery during and post installation on client's site - CSCS and IPAF desirable
  • Clean driving licence is essential
  • Fork lift licenece - desirable
