One of the most progressive and diverse printing groups in the UK is looking for an ambitious, commercially driven, people orientated FD to roll up their sleeves and really get to know this complex multi-site business. This role will be based at one of their sites in the South East.

With a close attention to detail and being a great leader and team player, this person will be able to run the Finance department and effect positive change to drive efficiencies and increase productivity.  They will be a technically strong and commercially astute individual to provide sound financial leadership and strategic support to the business.

Key Responsibilities include:

•              Leading and developing the  finance team

•              Maintaining and developing strong processes, controls and systems underpinning the businesses reporting.

•              Interrogating systems to provide thought provoking analysis.

•              Effectively and proactively managing group cashflow and FX positions.

•              Supporting the board in delivering on the company’s strategic objectives.

•              Review monthly management accounts/forecasts and running annual budget process.

•              Develop commercial estimating/costing platform and support new business opportunities.

•              Detailed financial analysis to support business as required.

•              Owning the monthly management pack and ad hoc reporting.

•              Provide costing support/analysis for large sales opportunities.

•              Challenging the status quo with strategic thinking while making the most of tactical opportunities.

•              Managing tax and energy positions effectively.

•              Key support on supplier & customer relationships/contractual/legislative/insurance matters.

•              Lead the business unit through successful Audits at divisional/group level.

•              Occasional support/backup to key divisional roles including HR/IT, etc to ensure robust service provision to the business.

Also:

  • Where they don’t exist, develop, and embed fit-for-purpose financial governance and controls across the business.
  • Give support, financial expertise, and challenge to business development opportunities; this is a proactive role rather than a ‘gatekeeper’ role.
  • Provide appropriate challenge, scrutiny and support to the Senior Leadership team and implement fit- for-purpose finance partnering to each of the functions.
  • To modernise the finance function so that accurate accounting and high-quality reporting, coupled with effective use of data, can be used in supporting decision-making, strategy formulation and implementation.  This role will take the finance function and the underlying processes and systems to the next level.

 

Qualification:

 

•              Qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA.
