HANDS ON FINISHING MANAGER - LARGE FORMAT

£Negotiable (Depending on Experience) + Overtime (Time ½) + Death in Service + Pension + 25 Days + 8 Bank Holiday

Our client is a leading large format graphics and display Company based in Kent. They are currently looking to recruit a Large Format Hands-on Finishing Manager. You will need to be fully versed in large format finishing and specifically ZUND cutting machines as well as computer literate and have the ability to manage and direct people and teams.

The finishing department is a key section of the production facility ensuring that customers campaigns and event products arrive finished, trimmed and able to be installed or used correctly. You will be responsible for the finishing department ensuring major sporting and events projects are delivered according to campaign specifications and to the highest standards. You will be working as part of a production management team that works across multiple material types, large and small format items, 3D structures, using a variety of standard finishing machinery. You will be responsible for the management, operation and production of the finishing department and associated team members.

Working closely with, Production management teams and other business wide teams to ensure all projects are produced, delivered and all requirements and needs of the client are met and exceeded. Quality monitoring to ensure that high standards are met from all members of the finishing department, working within this extremely busy and challenging department you will be tasked with the following:

• 6 direct reports
• Setting and managing teams workloads across production tasks on a daily basis.
• Scheduling all projects and finishing requirements on the internal MI System (Training provided)
• Attending and contributing to twice daily production meetings
• Understanding risk and escalation process to ensure that risks and issues are avoided or managed correctly.
• Setting teams workloads across all shifts and weekend working needs.
• Following instruction surrounding campaign and event requirements from production managers.
• Work as a team to achieve daily objectives and to a high standard.
• Follow and ensure that the health & safety rules and procedures and monitored and managed.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with the rest of the team and production departments.
• Operate and maintain a clean, efficient and productive finishing department.

Requirements:

• You will be an out-going, organised, capable, friendly and helpful, a confident self-starter.
• Excellent IT and PC skills to operate all internal IT/MI systems confidently.
• Good knowledge and operational experience in Zund cutting tables
• Exceptional finishing knowledge across processes such as Laminating, Rolls Rollers, Hand finishing, Fabrication & Cardboard engineering.
• Experience in managing teams and setting shifts across working requirements
• Attention to detail and getting it right first time
• You will take pride in your work, remaining focused, calm and motivated.
• Ability to prioritise, adapt and adjust working practices and tasks.
