FINISHING SUPERVISOR - FLEXIBLE PACKAGING

CHESHIRE: Also commutable from areas of Greater Manchester, Staffordshire, and Derbyshire.

Monday to Friday Days / Afternoons.

A high-quality manufacturer of flexible packaging films and laminates, suitable for a variety of applications and products. Our client operates a fast-paced work environment with high standards.

Due to unprecedented workloads and growth in production staff numbers there is a requirement for a Finishing Supervisor with hands on experience of the following processes: Slitting, Rewinding, Hole Punching, Laser and Hot Needle Perforation to supervise and train teams of staff on the Conversion Shift.

• To operate finishing machinery, according to the daily production schedule and client specifications, in a safe and efficient manner.
• Sets up and operates one or more slitting and rewind machines, hole punching, laser and hot needle perforating machines to specifications.
• Will also be tasked with supervising and training others on all the above machinery.
• Follows safe operating procedures and complies with all SOP guidelines to ensure that only the highest safety standard is maintained.
• Performs tasks within acceptable limits for quality, quantity, sanitation, and timeliness of completion, paying particular attention to prevent and eliminate costly errors.
• Maintains daily production quotas.
• Reads and understands work orders.
• Checks and inspects material received from prior operations to verify accuracy and conformance to specifications on the Sales Order Form.
• Complies with sanitation guidelines and good manufacturing practices related to neatness, product cleanliness and personal hygiene.
• Maintains a neat and orderly work area, in accordance to 5S Standards.
• Performs basic Operator preventative maintenance to machines and / or tools.
• Complies with Company policies and performing other duties as assigned.

Skills Required:

• Previous experience operating slitting / rewinding, hole punching, needle and laser perforation machinery will be required.
• Has the ability to work and concentrate under pressure in a high-volume factory.
• A Forklift or Counterbalance Licence is also desirable to assist with the movement of stock around site.
