GREATER MANCHESTER

DAY SHIFT: 8am -4.30pm MONDAY - FRIDAY

SALARY: CIRCA £30K (Flexible for the Right Candidate) + Overtime + Career Progression

Our client specialises in the manufacturer of environmentally friendly packaging solutions to some of most prestige luxury brands in the whisky and confectionery industry. They offer their customers fast and easy access to customised packaging solutions, with a mission to help the brands reduce the carbon footprint in their production. We are technology driven and service centred.

Our client is on the lookout for a Production Operative for their site based in Manchester - our client will offer full training to a candidate who has a good attitude to learn and punctuality.

The role holder will play a safe and active part in the Packaging Manufacturing process, being responsible to ensure all products presented are of best quality, rejecting unsuitable products, whilst safely maintaining minimum downtime in order to ensure all products are made to their designated specifications, to achieve current safety, output and quality targets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Start of shift daily safety checks completed and any issues or defects reported immediately to the Production Team Leader
  • Constantly monitor each stage of the manufacturing process to ensure correct operation
  • Rectify all stoppages/malfunctions asking for assistance when needed
  • Carry out quality check on raw material, semi-finished products and finished products
  • Ensure operator quality check sheets are carried out & signed off appropriately
  • Ensure safety systems are working correctly where applicable
  • Ensure the area that you are working in is clean & tidy at all times
  • Report all irregularities/health & safety issues to Production Team Leader
  • Ensure all housekeeping duties are carried out as and when required
  • Undertake any relevant training as requested

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be predominantly working on the factory floor, and will be around moving mechanical parts
  • The company believes in a collaborative and cross trained workforce and encourage all employees to learn all facets of production. This role will have the ability to learn and train on operational functions throughout the plants

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Great attention to details
  • Good understanding / use of English both written and spoken
  • Experience in packaging manufacturing/food industry is desirable
  • Can do attitude
