GLUING MACHINE OPERATOR - CARTONS

WEST YORKSHIRE

£27K - £31K Depending on Experience + Generous Holidays + Free Onsite Parking + Overtime Available

SHIFTS: Day Shifts - Typically weighted toward an 'early' as 07:00 - 15:00.

The company produces high-quality printed carton board packaging as well innovative niche packaging solutions for world recognised brands, through to SME's & start-ups.

Our client is looking for evidence of exceptional ability from committed, highly skilled Gluing Machine Operators. You will be responsible for output of high-quality production involving some unconventional machine processes and cross-functionality onto other finishing machinery, requiring speed & operational efficiency, colour management, quality inspection & thorough ongoing machine maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Glue machine operating: BOBST Media 68 / 100
  • Offline overall UV coating machine operating: Steinemann Colibri 74
  • Quality management and quality inspection
  • Achieving target run speeds
  • Maintaining departmental performance and maintenance
  • Control of departmental documentation and consumables
  • Adopting the company's production IT systems
  • Shared responsibility for the gluing and UV coating department
  • Reporting to the Production Manager & Managing Director

Requirements:

  • Experience running BOBST or similar gluing machines
  • Experience in folding carton production or similar
  • Experience with straight-line, crash-lock, complex, 4/6 corner gluing processes
  • Experience across other print finishing machinery desirable
  • High levels of energy to keep pace with ongoing production demand
  • Willingness to undertake overtime when required
  • Mechanical aptitude to maintain machines and address breakdowns
  • An interest in the printing and packaging industry
  • A genuine willingness to assist in all areas necessary
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Good IT, written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in new technologies
  • A positive attitude toward meeting challenges and a strong work ethic
  • Sound judgment and decision-making ability
  • An interest in progressing with the Company
