GUILLOTINE OPERATOR - PRINT

Up to £27K DOE + Overtime at Time ½ + Other Benefits TBD

Hours: 8am - 4.30pm

Our client based in Tyne and Wear offer digital solutions, print, mailing, direct mail and fulfilment services to a diverse range of clients. They are currently looking for an experienced Guillotine Operator to join their busy Finishing Department.

The Guillotine Operator manages the final stages of print production, ensuring high-quality cuts, maintaining equipment, and conducting thorough quality checks. Acting as a key contributor within the Finishing Team, the Guillotine Operator collaborates with various departments to ensure precise and timely completion of customer orders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute precise cuts on customer orders, handling both prepress and final cuts to meet exact specifications.
  • Operate Polar and Perfecta guillotine machines.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments and external providers to achieve smooth workflow and timely delivery.
  • Perform meticulous checks on all finished items, upholding quality standards to ensure only top-grade products reach customers.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and necessary repairs on guillotine equipment, keeping machinery in optimal condition to avoid downtime.
  • Efficiently organise and prioritise tasks, managing workload to ensure all orders meet designated timelines.
  • Ensure accuracy and perfection in each product, performing rigorous final inspections to deliver a flawless end result.

  • Attention to Detail - Maintains precision in cutting and finishing to ensure high-quality output on each product.
  • Technical Proficiency - Skilled in operating and maintaining guillotine machines, with the ability to troubleshoot minor issues to avoid production delays.
  • Quality Control - Consistently upholds high standards by performing thorough checks on all finished products to identify and correct any defects.
  • Team Collaboration - Works cooperatively with other departments, ensuring smooth coordination and timely completion of customer orders.

Education and Experience:

  • Extensive experience as a Guillotine Operator in the printing industry, preferably working with Polar and Perfecta machines (or similar).
  • Proficiency with other finishing equipment and techniques is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail and dedication to maintaining quality standards.
