We are looking for 2 experienced printers who have worked in screen and digital printing, ideally on textiles, who may be taking a step up from being a talented team member with some leadership skills or an experienced team leader from a similar organisation. You will be organised, efficient, conscientious, and ready to lead small teams to achieve excellence in efficiency, quality, and service to customer at our site in Hinckley. As a print team leader, you will see that the print production under your care runs smoothly and efficiently; ensuring materials are available for your teams to enable them to optimise output. You will undertake job preparation, set up of jobs, ensuring through your team and your own efforts that areas are clean and tidy, ensuring that quality issues are minimal. The role includes ensuring the team understand what the targets are and communicating to the team how they are performing against the hourly targets.

 

We are a fast-paced and dynamic company, and the role holder will need to be motivated to achieve exacting standards, with small teams that sometimes include new and developing colleagues. The role will have specific targets and measures that will give the Team Leader and team clear direction and understanding of their success.

The key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

· Motivate, support, guide and develop individuals on performance and behaviours.

· Health and safety checks

· Ensure the correct storage and use of hazardous goods.

· Reporting defects using the maintenance portal.

· Ensure area under remit practices good housekeeping including monitoring waste and recycling.

· Ensure compliance with all health and safety environment and security requirements.

· Prep work for production, ensuring garments, screens and inks are ready for set up.

· Ensure screens are topped up with ink during production.

· Ensure machines have a continuous flow of garments.

· Work to resolve issues within 1 hour before escalating to the Department Team Leader.

· Work with the shift managers with the resolution of any identified critical risk issues which may delay objectives.

· Ensure teams understand and deliver the objectives set, by working towards and achieving targets, relating to departmental KPI’s.

· Set and lead by example on exacting standards of behaviour and performance within the department.

· Brief crews at start of shift on work/required targets. Work with the training co-ordinator with on-the-job training for new starters and other team members

· Collate hourly run rate figures and input into the shift output spread sheet.

· To be flexible within the company, carry out any other ad-hoc duties and help in other areas when required to do so.

· Monitor crews / individual performance during shift and act / escalate accordingly.

· Unlock and lock up the factory when covering for shift manager.

· Complete shift plan in the absence of shift manager.

 

Along with a good understanding of the print process the team leader will be motivated to take ownership of their targets and be eager to engage their team to succeed. This role is a shift position, from Monday to Friday, rotating weekly between 5.30am and 2.00pm AND 1.45pm to 10.15pm, occasional overtime may be available including weekends.
