Shift: Initially a day shift moving to a split shift

Our Client is a well-established company offering creative design and in-house print services (kit and premises all owned outright). With a turnover of approx. £4 million the company offer extensive design services, B1 & B2 litho, digital print, large format & finishing within their purpose built site. They aim to deliver clients' needs without question, if required within 24 hours.


They are currently looking to recruit a Digital Press Operator to work as a key part of the print operations team to ensure all orders are printed to the highest quality standard. Utilising the HP Indigo presses to ensure all print is produced to agreed daily targets on time in full. Minimise machine downtime and stoppages so that productivity can be maximised. Carry out all essential preventative maintenance when required.

My Client would also be interested in speaking to experienced Digital Operators who are happy to train on the HP Presses

Responsibilities

  • Determine and understand all order instructions and running of the Indigo presses productively while, meeting job requirements of ink density, colour matching, size/construction, and upholding the required Quality Standard.
  • Manage workload to meet customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and print related issues; demonstrate the ability to make adjustments to the equipment including replenishing of consumables, replacing of filters, bottles and waste containers.
  • Perform necessary press maintenance
  • Maintain knowledge of the press, current printing processes, and contribute to the effective running of the department.
  • Consistently work in a safe manner and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures where applicable
  • Download and Upload all Press files from various media as required
  • Read and understands work tickets to guarantee correct product is produced to quality standards and specifications
  • Identify and select correct substrates to be used for the specific jobs
  • Communicate with Production Manager regarding any discrepancies
  • Loads correct material into press
  • Monitors print quality while machine is in production
  • Make decisions regarding quality, colour control and colour standards
  • Complete quality checks to ensure product meets all physical and visual requirements
  • Complete necessary paperwork and records
  • Carry out troubleshooting of equipment, making minor adjustments, completing basic repairs, as well as carrying out daily / weekly preventive maintenance
  • Notify Manager when equipment needs repair
  • Keep pressroom clean and organised
