INSTALLATIONS MANAGER - LARGE FORMAT / GRAPHICS

Our client is a large format displays and signage company based in the Midlands, they offer a wide product range including Retail Display, Signage, Banners, POS, Outdoor Media, Vehicle Graphics, Fabric tension frames, Exhibition Graphics, Interiors, Module Stands and more.

They are currently looking to recruit an Installations Manager / Fitter to plan and manage the smooth running of the fitting and installations department ensuring that the correct resource is identified and assigned at all times to ensure client satisfaction.

Direct responsibility for a small team of fitters and first point of contact for all sub-contractors. Responsible for sign and graphic installation in an often fast paced, fast turnaround large print format environment.

Management Duties:

  • To lead by example and role model respectful and professional behaviour in both the company and client workspaces
  • To effectively plan, schedule and manage all booking in, site attendance and site documentation (RAMS etc) as and when required
  • To work in conjunction with the Production Manager to efficiently plan resource for installations, agreeing relevant actions where appropriate
  • To support, delegate and manage a team of 4 Fitting and Installation employees plus sub-contractors.
  • To coach, train and instruct less experienced members of the team
  • To display a positive 'can do' attitude and aim to deliver exceptional service
  • To build and develop excellent working relationships with all teams to ensure there is a two way flow of information ensuring collaborative working to deliver for the client
  • To actively promote the core values of the business at all times.
  • To use initiative and take ownership of events and challenges within your own department prior to escalating matters to Senior Managers

Responsibilities:

  • To oversee the smooth running of the Fitting and Installations department whilst working closely with the Production, Art Studio and Client Services team
  • To plan and co-ordinate all national and international sign and graphic installations, selecting the best skills for the job and ensuring that all work is carried out to ISO 9001 and future recognised procedures
  • To undertake site surveys, using initiative to find the best and most efficient solution for the customer
  • To ensure that you and your team present a professional image and positively promote the company when at client sites, offering a high standard of customer experience at all times.
  • To monitor and drive high customer service standards within the fitting team, feeding back to team members and sub-contractors where required and coaching for improvement
  • To source, recruit, manage and co-ordinate subcontract fitters to meet demands and workloads
  • To manage and carry out varied work from installing groundwork signage to erecting scaffolding and installing signs to cladding or installing vinyl graphics to glazing or vehicles
  • To attend pre-production and all other relevant meetings as and when required and have a key role in offering technical and creative advice and support
  • To work with the Production Manager and client support team to find solutions for planned and ad hoc work
  • To ensure that all work leaving the building is of the highest possible standard and quality with high degrees of accuracy
  • To ensure that any snags occurring on site are notified to the Client services team and are effectively and efficiently rectified within the agreed timescales.
  • To invest time in, coach and support new members of the fitting team, sharing knowledge and placing new employees with experienced team members for training
  • To act as lead fitter when on client site and delegate tasks
  • To manage and resolve any fitting issues raised by the client to their satisfaction
  • To use experience and own creative flair to create own artwork
  • To ensure that signed delivery notes and installation photos are returned to the company and scanned / stored in the appropriate client folder
  • To travel as and when required as per the requirements of the job
  • To act as the inhouse vehicle wrapping expert, managing work from initial brief to finished item
  • To work at height as required and as licence permits and operate light machinery and tools

Skills:

  • Experience of production and installation techniques and good understanding of large format digital print, graphics and production processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to develop and maintain positive relationships within and outside the Company
  • Good responsive communication skills
  • Clean driving license and ability to pass DBS checks if required
  • Very good client facing skills and able to operate and manage a tidy, efficient workspace when on site
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise work to meet client needs
  • Good accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a positive and 'can do' approach and an ability to be adaptable to business needs
  • Passion for quality and problem solving, taking pride in the finished product
  • Keen interest in the future of the Graphics and visual comms industry and future tech / trends
