KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER - BEVERAGE PACKAGING

ANY ENGLAND LOCATION (Home based with National travel)

Salary up to £60K DOE + Company Car/ Allowance + Benefits Package

Our client is a leading packaging manufacturer supplying to a variety of different sectors throughout the UK - predominately beverage, dairy, automotive, chemical and household markets.

The company are currently looking for a Key Account Manager to manage and develop existing and newly acquired customers, which includes identifying new business opportunities for all products manufactured in the UK. Reporting to the Sales Director, the successful candidate will be focused on the beverage sector with soft drinks, juices and bottled water customer portfolio.

There will be a structured training programme to ensure full appreciation and understanding of the products, manufacturing capability and the industry in general.
Given the Companies' fast growth and its multi-national expansion, opportunities could exist to progress within existing or new businesses within the Group both in the UK and overseas.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and develop opportunities in existing customer accounts
  • Maintain price management process to reflect changes in market and cost fluctuations
  • Cultivate and maintain professional relationships at all levels
  • Ensure that any new product development enquiries are in line with the current sales strategy of the Company and are fully documented
  • Provide input to projects as required and support the achievement of the necessary timescales
  • Analyse sales data, competitor activity and prepare corresponding monthly reports
  • Prepare and agree detailed annual sales budgets
  • Implement sales and marketing plans to achieve agreed budgets
  • Participation in specialist exhibitions
  • You can be required to undertake such duties, temporarily or on a continuing basis, as may be required of you commensurate with your grade/level in the organisation

Experience and Qualifications

  • Proven customer account management experience, ideally in the packaging sector and or beverage industry
  • Demonstrable understanding of negotiation techniques
  • Proficient IT skills (SAP advantageous)
  • Have technical ability to understand customer requests and provide solutions
  • Proven effective sales planning and organisation skills and experience
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Good level of education
  • Professional attitude
  • Sound commercial acumen
  • Organised, methodical and excellent attention to detail
  • Flexible, used to fast paced, changing environments
  • Strong team player with a willingness to assist others
  • Good at building and sustaining positive internal and external relationships
