Our client is well established graphics company industry based in the Hampshire area, they are currently looking for a Production Operative to join their existing team.
Role Summary:
- Support the production team by managing the printers, laminator, vinyl cutters and ensuring that goods and services are produced efficiently and in the most cost-effective way possible.
- Maintain a high quality of work produced and meet deadlines set within the company and by customers.
- The below are core responsibilities for your job description. There will be lots of other tasks and responsibilities that the company will ask of you, so this list is not exhaustive.
- When required you will be expected to absorb roles that perhaps are assigned to other people in their absence. The company will expect you to use logic and best judgement when required in the company's best interest or to fulfill deadlines.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work to schedule as directed by the Production Manager and the order system
- Update Production Manager with any changes/issues with current production schedule
- Quality control of items produced within the production room
- Manage the vinyl cutting machines
- Use any raw material (such as vinyl) effectively to reduce waste and excess stock
- Carry out regular maintenance of all machinery in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations.
- Manage stock levels and order media & consumables.
- Cover the roles of print manager when required.
- Responsible for all deadlines (client & supplier timelines), expectations of client's deadlines.
- Production/Finishing of various products/goods of the companies and quality control.
- Prepare goods for dispatch or install and ensure relevant paperwork is included
- Read and follow job scheduling software/app in conjunction with job sheets
Knowledge/Experience Required
- Extensive knowledge of the production industry covering machines and various medias
- Proficient in IT - Vinyl cutting and digital print rip software
- Knowledge of Onyx RIP Software, Illustrator & signlab would be beneficial.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team
- Self-motivation and ability to organise own time effectively as well as to motivate and advise others to schedule their own workloads
