LARGE FORMAT Production Team Leader

Working hours: Monday - Thursday (6am - 2pm, 1.30pm - 10.15pm shifts)
Friday (6am - 2pm, 1.30pm - 8pm)
Saturday rota 1 in 2

Our client is a leading Large Format Digital and Graphics Company based in the South West. They are currently looking to recruit a Production Team Leader to join their team. Reporting to the Production Manager you will lead a team of Production Operatives.

Role Purpose and Function

  • To ensure that all orders / samples are produced safely, on time in full and to the correct specification / quality and budget.
  • To provide first line supervision to the production team and to monitor and control the quality of work carried out by all team members.
  • To suggest and implement preventative measures to stop reoccurrence of any reported issues.
  • To ensure all production areas are kept clean and tidy and that the 5S's standard are maintained and improved.
  • Key Performance Indicators
  • KPI's define the performance standards that must be reasonably achieved in order to satisfy the business's need for the job role.
  • All indicators are intended as a guide to be expanded upon through daily work and management.
  • Annually an appraisal will be carried out linked to these indicators.
  • The appraisal review process is outside the scope of this document.

Job activities

  • Provide advice to all employees where appropriate.
  • Provide training and coaching to all team members.
  • To monitor and control the work carried out by all team members.
  • To show a high degree of professionalism with regards to quality and safety.
  • To ensure communication is provided to all parties in order to resolve assigned tasks in a timely manner and to their satisfaction.
  • To escalate possible problems to the Production Manager / Director in a timely manner in order to minimise effects on orders/samples etc.
  • To ensure that allocated work to team members are properly communicated so that they can produce all requirements correctly.
  • To suggest improvements to improve team efficiency/performance and overall business performance.
  • To ensure all company procedures are complied with by team and self.
  • To ensure compliance with the companies H & S policy and procedures by team and self and to report all accidents and near misses in the correct manner.
  • To assist with and carry out production tasks as required and to comply with the agreed production schedule.
  • To ensure buildings are left safe and secure at the end of each working day.
  • To ensure all records associated with samples and orders are maintained accurately in an easy retrievable manner.

Reporting

*Ideally the candidate would also have Print Finishing Skills.
