Our client is a successful Events and Exhibitions company based in the North West. With a turnover of over £20 million they offer a complete range of in-house services from design, build through to on-site project management and installation.

The Role of Operations Foreman is to manage D&B tasks and resources within the Warehouse to ensure duties are carried out safely, on time and quality checked. They will be working to a continual improvement process and expected to help manage and ensure company processes are adhered to. Role will be a supporting position and part of the Operations management team within the Organisation. The role also has the onsite responsibilities and duties to ensure the build-up and breakdown are delivered to the processes and standards set within the business.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a good standard of education and knowledge of manufacturing process and controls. Time served in similar positions will be considered relevant.

Responsibilities / Requirements:

  • Pre-site - Expected to Lead by example and build a pro-active positive culture towards HSS across all teams.
  • Pre-site - Reporting back to Manager any defaults / queries in production orders, information errors and quality of output.
  • Pre-site - Support the Warehouse Management with production team sub labour to ensure they meet their targets and standards for manufacture in MCR & pull & Prep in Ripon when required.
  • Pre-Site - Building features / stands / bespoke elements in the warehouse and support the team in Pull & Prep / oversee critical loading bespoke projects as necessary.
  • Pre-site - With manager agree a robust breakdown plan with correct labour and resources to ensure they hit tenancy times and return all kit safely and report any defects.
  • Pre-site - As part of the 8-week rolling planning process, ensure all WI's related to projects you are working on are collated and checked prior to loading of trucks to ensure all components are accounted for labelled and palletised and checked for quality and quantity.
  • Pre-site - Work with Manager to ensure they carryout regular assessment of equipment and stock/materials reporting any faulty machinery and follow maintenance plans.
  • Pre-site - Contributing towards the Facilities management of Company premises by reporting back any defects to line manager and being part of the maintenance of the working area.
  • Pre-site - Be part of the team to ensure all work areas are kept safe and clean and contribute to a clean down process as part of your working day.
  • Onsite delivery and supervisory duties.
  • Onsite build- Responsible to oversee the offload of projects across core & D&B projects ensuring all stock and ensure it is distributed across the showsite in line with build plan, highlighting any shortfalls or missing bespoke stock items and reporting to event manager and operations.
  • Onsite build- Responsible to manage all sub hire labour on build and break downs, ensuring the build is going to schedule and all equipment is there and issued to plan.
  • Onsite build- Ensure Sub hire labour follows HSS procedures and report back and log any accidents/near misses.
  • Identify and quarantine any faults in shell scheme or other components.
  • Onsite build D&B- Monitor and control schedule of build keeping Project Manager fully aware of any delays or shortfall in overall delivery.
  • Flexing timescales and team to ensure they hit deadlines.
  • Onsite build core / features- Monitor across multiple services, build plan, Shell / Flooring / furniture working with Event Manager to ensure all fit for opening.
  • Onsite build- Lead team to ensure all services and components are installed and correct prior to releasing sub con labour.
  • Onsite build - Sign off block plans for HSS and ensure records are filed with Event manager prior to open of show.
  • Onsite build - supervise loading of trucks and ensure stock is loaded correctly and safely ensuring no damage is occurred.
  • The above duties may be expanded as the business needs change

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proven experience of working in a production facility, exhibition / event management preferrable.
  • Works well and efficiently under pressure.
