OPERATIONS MANAGER - CORRUGATED PACKAGING

SOUTH EAST

Salary Guide Negotiable £40-45K (Depending on Experience) + 20 days plus 8 statutory days, increasing to 25 plus 8 statutory days over time + Life Insurance + Profit Share Scheme + Pension

Our client is one of the UK's leading independent sheet plants who specialises in the design and manufacturer of Corrugated Packaging, the company is well established yet growing rapidly currently employing approx. 100 people and is also well invested with further capital projects underway.

They are currently looking to recruit an Operations Manager, or an experience supervisor looking for a more senior management role. You will manage the site-based operations team and manufacturing process at one of the company's sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and continually develop all site-based operations team members (36 people including 6 team leaders) and manufacturing processes at the site
  • Ensure Health and Safety policies are adhered to
  • Coordinate all training for factory team members both process and non-process related to ensure key skills are developed on and across processes
  • Ensure the daily manufacturing schedule is achieved
  • Ensure product is produced in line with specifications
  • Manage recruitment process for operations team when necessary
  • Support continuous improvement projects

Requirements:

  • Prior management experience of a team with a minimum size of 15 people
  • Experience of successfully developing teams and individuals in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to establish training processes to improve machine and process skills
  • IOSH Managing Safely or better
  • Good IT skills including proficient use of Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Experience of batch manufacturing process management
  • Experience of die cutting, flexographic printing, gluing and stitching processes
  • Knowledge and experience of BRCGS Food certification standard or equivalent
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques
