PAPER OVER BOARD PRODUCTION OPERATOR - DAYS

SOUTH EAST

Salary £25K - £30K (Depending on Skills and Experience)

Hours of Working: 9-5 Monday to Friday

Our client specialises in the production of luxury boxes for well-known brands around the world. Industries they serve include gaming, beauty, apparel, sports teams and many more.

They are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a can-do attitude to work in their Case Making Department. The role will involve operating and maintaining various case making equipment including automatic gluing machines and case making machines as well as producing by hand. The role will involve producing high quality ring binders and cases within their luxury rigid boxes. These will be of various run lengths raging from one offs to a few thousand.

Due to many of these tasks involving more than one operator, you will be responsible for operating a small team of Production Assistants. Working at various stages of the case making process such as spotting, edge turning and quality check.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Wrapping POB cases in short to medium run lengths by hand or with various levels of automation
  • Running various automatic / semi-automatic machines including: Gluing and edge turning machines - Automatic/semi-automatic case-making machines
  • Ensuring that all work is produced to the highest quality standard
  • Following the company production schedule to ensure that orders are completed on time
  • Organising production assistants to help in the case making process
  • Performing equipment setups and clean downs
  • Maintaining equipment and working area
  • Identifying any issues that could impact the production performance and seeking to resolve them using practical problem-solving methods
  • Using the software systems to acquire job information and report in a timely manner
  • Using Lean principles in an effort to continuously improve productivity

Requirements:

  • Technical expertise running semi-automatic case making equipment including automatic gluing machines and case makers
  • Good glue management, edge turning and spotting skills
  • Attention to detail and an eye for quality
  • Handy with a folding bone
  • Able to work quickly and with a high degree of precision
  • Able to work as a team in a production line or on your own
  • Skills in team leadership/management or technical skills
  • Experience in setting up and maintaining rigid box wrapping and case making machinery
