Our client is a forward thinking digital print company who is looking to recruit for the key role of Pre-Press Manager. 

This pivotal role plays a key part in our client’s production process, requiring a strong understanding of pre-press, finishing, and printing operations. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and bring a positive, proactive attitude to the role. This is a Monday to Friday, office based day shift requiring some flexibility with timing as work demands require.

Main responsibilities

  • Help in the day to day running of a busy Pre-press department.
  • Set and monitor targets.
  • Train and motivate prepress staff to meet targets and requirements of the business.
  • Liaising with clients and account managers.
  • Action pre-flighted of customer-submitted files as part of the automation
  • Troubleshoot any issues and, where necessary, correct files using Adobe Creative Cloud software products and Enfocus/Heidelberg plug-ins.
  • Communicate any queries or problems with production team members and account managers and ensure all client requirements are documented on Print IQ(MIS system)
  • Prioritise and manage workflow, ensuring all jobs are completed on time and within schedule.
  • Following all relevant health & safety, environmental and quality requirements when completing work.

Key requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years pre-press experience carrying out similar functions.
  • A good knowledge of MacOS and Windows systems
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud products, namely Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Pro and Photoshop plus Heidelberg and Enfocus Pitstop plug-ins.
  • Previous experience with Heidelberg and Print IQ MIS (or similar software).
  • A high level of attention to detail and understanding of colour.
  • An excellent understanding of impositions and print production processes and practices.
  • Ability to adapt and function as part of a larger team.
  • Willingness to train and learn new skills as needed.
  • This is an 'in person' role and not available as remote or hybrid working.
