A career orientated Print Finishing expert is sought by IFS to join the expanding Team of specialist Technicians to undertake technical support work, machine installations, operator training and sales demonstrations. 

Have you acquired expert skills and knowledge over several years in multiple print finishing processes and in general print production ? This wonderful opportunity to join the IFS Tech Team would enable you to use your expertise and knowledge of print finishing in a very fulfilling career. It will practically involve the following:

• Installations: Working with the team to undertake brand new machine assembly, initial start, testing and running, before hand over. 
• Training: After installation undertaking on-site operator training and handover.
• Demonstrations: Working with the sales team to undertake sales demonstrations in the showroom or at customer premises, presenting machines to prospective new customers.
• Technical Support: Supporting the Tech Team with trouble shooting, dealing with customer technical enquiries, some repair and service support work.
• Exhibitions and events: From time to time you will be involved working with the team at events, including DRUPA, to demonstrate the machines.
• Representation: Courtesy visits to existing customers and general installation follow up visits.

The range of products to work on is very varied. It includes from Horizon the complete portfolio, with the most popular systems being Booklet Makers and Stitch Liners, Folding Machines, Perfect Binders and Die-cutters. In addition IFS also represents FOLIANT for Laminators, TECNAU for Roll Feeding and paper handling systems, PETRATTO for Folder Gluers, BAUMANN-PERFECTA for guillotines and cutting systems, DIGIBOOK TECHNOLOGY for case making and casing-in machines.

The work of the IFS Print Finishing Technician is extremely interesting and very varied. You will have the opportunity to meet many people across the printing industry and travel extensively throughout the UK to undertake the installation work. Occasionally this will also involve overseas travel mainly in Europe at our suppliers.

The ideal candidate will need to possess and demonstrate excellent hands-on practical knowledge of print finishing machine operation and show a depth of knowledge of finishing and print processes. Working to exact tolerances and always to attain high quality results is a must. If you have worked as team leader, production manager, or have trained people in the practicalities of machine operation these skills will be useful. You will need to articulate, well presented and have a positive can do attitude if you are to succeed.
