PROCUREMENT MANAGER

CAMBRIDGESHIRE

Salary: £45K - £50K + 26 Days Holiday & Bank Holidays + 5% employer contribution to pension + Health & Wellbeing Programme + Death in Service Cover + Opportunity for Progression + Ample Parking

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday - 8am till 5pm & Friday - 8am Till 4pm

Our client is a well-established privately-owned company, manufacturing a full range of added value carton packaging for toiletries, cosmetics and beverage markets. They pride themselves on top quality customer service from full service design capabilities to the latest in press technology.

They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Procurement Manager. You will be the lead individual responsible for managing and control of the company's suppliers, with a particular emphasis on the purchase of carton board material.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing daily purchasing activities
  • Establish relationships with new and existing key suppliers that are crucial to the company's need together with agreeing terms, where appropriate, including discount structures and volume rebates
  • Ensure that all materials within the supply chain are on time
  • Ensure accurate communication with sales and relevant departments as necessary
  • Work closely with the Commercial Manager to minimise lead time and maximise output
  • Provide a responsive and pro-active knowledge base of current market and industry constraints
  • Highlight any quality failings to suppliers and manufacturers to always retain requisite performance
  • Assist with problem resolution on any supply chain related issues
  • To be assigned projects, which support supply activity and development of procurement function
  • Monthly reports on spend analysis and stock reconciliation

Individual Requirements:

  • Experience in a Procurement Manager role
  • Preferable to have experience in a packaging manufacturing environment
  • Business degree with specialisation in procurement being desirable
  • Solid judgement along with decision making skills and strong leadership capabilities
  • Microsoft Office capable
  • Ability to commute/relocate
