Role Reports to: Technical Director
Purpose of the Job:
To develop high quality and innovative products and contribute to product development programs to meet business needs and within agreed deadlines. To maintain current product ranges ensuring compliance, changes when necessary, material understanding and formulation cost savings. Significantly contribute to the technology knowledge and understanding.
Key Accountabilities:
Committed to ensuring the safety of self and others.
Plan and execute development projects against agreed timescales according to business needs.
Provide extensive technical knowledge for effective problem resolution.
Communicate regular project status updates and documentation to internal stakeholders clearly and concisely.
Maintain accurate laboratory records.
Skills Required for the Job:
Product Development and Formulation - Contribute to the development of, or personally develop, specific products to meet business requirements.
Project Management - Undertake specific projects, using appropriate tools where required, to improve efficiency, reduce cost, introduce a concept or make other notable changes.
Technical Applications - Technical skills and ability to resolve problems across the specific product or application area, including an understanding of raw materials / ink chemistry / printing applications / technologies etc.
Input and Maintain Records / Data - Ensure appropriate data is recorded accurately and in a timely fashion, ensure the regular maintenance of all records.
Application of Expertise - Apply own specific and detailed knowledge or expertise to a problem or situation to resolve it in the best interests of the Company
Qualifications / Experience Critical for the Job Holder:
Proven experience in leading projects
Extensive knowledge of printing ink and coatings technology
Demonstrate a broad understanding of formulating principles
