Our client is looking to employ a Production Allrounder to join their team in Derbyshire, they are a small friendly team that specialise in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of signage solutions for the retail, high street and private sectors.

They are planning to steadily expand over the next couple of years and it would be a great time to join them. For the right candidate, there is potential scope to become management in the future.

The position would definitely suite a person that is currently working on a shop floor and wants to move upwards, albeit within a small company and take on an All-round production role, with a view to managing the production in a reasonably short space of time. A good can-do positive attitude and the ability to work on their own intuitive is required.

The majority of production work, around 70 -80% is digital print, laminating and application to substrates but also other production tasks as listed below:

  • Setting up of print files using Corel Draw - Basic knowledge of Corel Draw would preferably be required.
  • Printing of files on Roland printers using Versa works print rip.
  • Laminating, trimming and application of vinyl's and graphics by hand and with a Rolls Roller and laminating machine.
  • Cut vinyl lettering using a Roland plotter with Versaworks rip.
  • Router cutting using a CNC router, materials would be Acrylic, Foamex and ACM. Previous experience with routers would be good but not essential as training can be given on the router and VCarve pro (Basic cutting functions for sign blanks, they don't utilise the machine for 3d carving etc just basic cutting functions)
  • Occasional wiring up of led modules into back trays
  • Occasional application of graphics to vehicles, but not a core part of the production just occasional.
  • General house keeping duties for the shop floor.

Their current machines are:

  • Roland Versa Express - RF 640
  • Roland Soljet Pro - XR 640
  • Roland Camm 1 Gr2-640 Plotter
  • 2 x Dual Screen P.C's both with Corel Draw and one with Adobe Illustrator
  • Easy Mount 1600mm Hot roll laminator
  • Rolls Roller Flatbed 540
  • Mantech Spartan 2500mm x 1250mm bed CNC Router
  • Various drills, flatbed saw, chop saw and hand tools
