A well established printing company is looking to fill the key role of Production Director, ensuring organisational effectiveness by providing leadership for the entire print function.

Working as a member of the board and reporting directly to the Managing Director, your goal will be to ensure the production department is aligned to the long term vision of the business. You will be responsible for ensuring your senior leadership team work towards improving KPIs and driving the long term business strategy through production.

Five Key Remits of the Role:

Safety - responsible for safety across all production areas, working with the H&S Manager to ensure a robust and thorough safety system across all production sites, and all production teams see safety as a priority.

Skilled and stable team - you will be responsible for a large number of people, ensuring you have a happy, engaged team that aligns with business value; teams have a great recruitment and onboarding experience; and all team members have a training and development framework that encourages progression.

Quality - through a robust quality management system your team are responsible for a number of quality metrics such as right first time and reducing non-conformance. 

Operational performance – Flow & Output - your team are responsible for driving performance through their teams. Ensuring jobs move through production in the most cost effective and efficient way possible. 

Commerciality - all areas of production impact commerciality, through ensuring the organisation has the right level of resource, reducing costs or reducing waste your team need to be focussed on business profitability.

Abilities Required:

  • Applied experience of  driving high standards of performance.
  • Experience developed in a print manufacturing environment
  • Track record of managing high performing management teams
  • Experience of supporting managers to recruit, retain, motivate, and develop their teams
  • Excellent IT, Communication and Presentation skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at every level
